Traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture is a holistic system of medicine that stimulates the body's own natural healing ability and addresses not only the symptoms, but the underlying cause of illness.
Acupuncture is based on the concept of Qi, or 'vital energy' that flows throughout the body. Energy flows may become blocked or depleted due to physical, emotional or environmental factors. These imbalances can manifest as pain, lack of energy, lowered immune system and/or illness.
The acupuncture needles regulate flow of Qi by stimulating nerve fibers that carry electrical impulses back to the brain. This triggers the release of endorphins and neuro-transmitters, including serotonin and dopamine; it increases blood flow, balances the autonomic nervous system, and influences hormonal release.
The benefits of acupuncture include stress and pain relief, improved immune system, regulated hormones, improved digestion, reduced inflammation, improved sleep, improved circulation and increased energy.
Acupuncture has a cumulative effect and treatments are best applied in a series of 6-12 individual sessions at a frequency of 1-2 times per week.

Cosmetic facial acupuncture is an effective method of rejuvenating your skin and reducing the visible signs of ageing. It is a natural and safe alternative to botox, surgery, chemical peels and injections without harmful side effects. Specific points based on traditional Chinese medicine help to balance internal function, relax tension in the face, improve muscle tone, decrease fine lines and wrinkles. Ultra-thin needles stimulate the production of collagen and elastin proteins, improve blood flow, lymphatic drainage and skin cell micro-circulation in the face.
Cosmetic acupuncture treatments are best applied in a series of 8-10 individual sessions at a frequency of 1-2 times per week.

Auricular or ear acupuncture involves the placement of small needles into specific points of the outer ear. Treatments help to regulate the nervous system, promote relaxation, inward focus, calming of the mind and support mental health. It is also beneficial in the treatment of addiction recovery and trauma support.

Cupping therapy is a Chinese medicine modality that applies suction cups on the skin to draw up the muscles, fascia and deep tissues. This helps to increase blood flow, improve lymphatic drainage, reduce muscle tension and inflammation. It is frequently used in combination with acupuncture for musculoskeletal conditions. It is also useful in the treatment of digestive issues, chest congestion, skin complaints and other conditions.

Moxibustion therapy involves the burning of mugwort a Chinese medicinal herb used to stimulate circulation, warm acupuncture points and promote smooth flow of Qi. Moxibustion helps in improving blood flow, reducing pain, alleviating menstrual cramps, turning breech baby, aiding digestion and supporting the immune system.

Infrared light therapy creates a deep warming effect to help improve blood flow, reduce inflammation and accelerate natural healing processes. Far infrared (below visible light spectrum) emissions penetrate deep into the body, increasing microcirculation and thus assisting the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to injured cells while eliminating cellular waste.
